Youth football provides skill development in coordination, sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership. Other benefits include learning to play by the rules and handling adversity while playing others. Vashon Lacrosse
The Curtis Vikings come to Vashon on Weds., with Vulture’s varsity kicking off the evening in an earlier start at 5 PM. The Vulture’s JV plays under the lights with a a 7 PM face-off.
Friday night is the rescheduled Vulture’s JV game against Bainbridge. They meet at 7 PM at VHS Stadium.
On Saturday, the Boys Youth teams are off to Puyallup. The 7/8 team plays at 10 AM and the 5/6 Boys go next, facing off at noon.
The Girl’s 5/6 team wraps up the weekend games, hosting Queen Anne at VHS Soccer Field, face-off is at noon.

Welcome to the VYBS 2009 season. Vashon Youth Baseball & Softball (VYBS) is a remarkable reflection of the best in our island community. Our mission is to instill in our island youth life lessons of teamwork, individual achievement, a spirit of fair play, and a healthy sense of balance between competition and honorable cooperation.
Vashon Youth Baseball & Softball (VYBS) is a non-profit volunteer organization that is a member of the National PONY Baseball & Softball organization and has adopted the “Pony League” rules.

- Quarterback Derek Anderson's uneven five-season stay with the Cleveland Browns is over. The Browns released the one-time Pro Bowl selection Tuesday, a day after getting backup Seneca Wallace in a trade with the Seahawks.

- The Mariners top draft pick in 2009, Dustin Ackley was recently named College Baseball Player of the Decade. During his time at North Carolina, he had a career .412 batting average, and as Chris Egan reports, also had some power.

- Verizon Wireless and the NFL announced the deal Tuesday, which will allow fans to watch live footage of every game, as well as next month's NFL Draft.
- Seahawks ship QB Wallace to Browns
- The Seattle Seahawks traded backup quarterback Seneca Wallace to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2011 undisclosed draft pick.
